MH Psychologist Consultant

SUMMARY

SAWA is looking for a highly qualified psychologist who is experienced in the field of Mental Health Psychological support. The primary purpose of this consultation is to provide psychological support to SAWA staff. A mental health psychologist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling, and support services for SAWA staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:

1. Assess the staffs' mental condition based on review of the employee information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members (assessment of the psychological health of the staff).
2. Conduct one- to-one consultation sessions with the staff.
3. Provide psychological consultations to all staff.
4. Work on developing and enhancing the psychological health of the staff which will positively affect their work performance and overall health.
5. Maintain confidentiality of records and information collected.
6. Instruct and direct the staff on how to improve their psychological health

REPORTS TO: 

Project Manager

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

• 3+ years’ experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Psychosocial support, Psychiatry or other related field.
• Proven experience working in challenging situation;
• Experience in working for an NGO/ humanitarian organization preferable

• Strong organizational skills
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
• Must be able to work flexible work schedule
• Ability to guide, direct, or influence people
• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
• Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
• Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
