Project Officer for ECHO Project

Main Role

The DRR Project Officer will oversee the implementation of the ECHO activities in the field. Moreover, s/he will also be in charge of ensuring relevant monitoring and reporting during the lifetime of the project.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for collecting timely reports from the field and contribute to the development of interim and final narrative reports to donors in accordance with relevant templates, requirements and deadlines.
• Follow up on the set implementation plan to ensure no delays are incurred on the project.
• Oversee the implementation of the project activities within the targeted sites while providing the required support.
• Support in the planning of the activities in coordination with the PMER team.
• Liaise with and provide ongoing support to the Field Officers in the implementation areas.
• Ensure collecting the lessons learnt and the best practices from the field and sharing them with the PMER team.
• Conduct field visits to the targeted sites with the Field Officers to monitor the implementation of the activities.
• Conduct regular meetings with the steering committee of the project.
• Provide relevant support to the Field Coordinator.
• Ensure that the implemented activities meet the strategic objectives of the project.

Function Specific Experience

• Previous experience in managing ECHO grants
• Previous experience in working on response/preparedness projects
• Previous experience in working with NGOs
• Previous experience in similar positions
• Experience in project cycle management
• Experience in social/ health programs: needs assessment, awareness raising, community based-approach
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Word and Excel
• Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
