GNFF is looking for an experienced and ambitious Mid-level Agricultural Engineer to help the anticipated 4-year AFD-funded BASATINE Project (Bolstering Agriculture Systems’ Ability to Invest, Nourish, and Employ). This project aims to immediately address food insecurity and provide needed income and technical support to farmers to survive this tumultuous time, as well improve the capacity of food systems to maintain employment and growth in the longer term via stronger domestic production and system linkages.
The agricultural engineer will work closely with BASATINE Team of Engineers, he/she should be able to:
- Conduct field visits to different sites (Akkar and the Beqaa)
- Participate to the TOTs
- Train farmers according to the TOTs (IPM and GAP principles, composting, etc)
- Assist farmers in conserving the biodiversity and implementing techniques that conserve soil and water.
- Assist with R&D
- Take part in developing and administering training material.
- .Provide recommendations on potential crops for different plots
- Take part in designing and monitoring demonstration plots in the mentioned areas

• Very good computer skills using MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Good communication skills
• Active and self-motivated.
• Able to negotiate different opinions and points of views with groups of farmers
• Multitask
