EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

National Writing Campaign for Children and Youths Stories

الحملة الوطنيّة لكتابة قصص الأطفال واليافعين

World Learning Inc. (WL) implementing the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI 2) Project, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) and The Center for Educational Research and Development (CRDP), is launching a National Writing Campaign for Children and Youths Stories for the purpose of authoring short stories, Grades 1 to Grade 6, to be donated to schools in Lebanon.

In the context of Lebanon, there is an enormous need of children's literature to support literacy learning in the three languages Arabic, French, and English from Grade 1 to Grade 6. Based on QITABI 2 research and development of literacy material, it was evident that there is an opportunity to enrich the reading resources that are supportive of the national curricula, to ensure quality resources with a variety of genres and themes which are developmentally appropriate and convenient for the 21st century skills and cotemporary topics.

For this purpose, WL invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from authors who would like to contribute in writing at least one short story to be offered for free, in the form of open source for all schools in Lebanon. The volunteer authors will be recognized with their names featuring in the acknowledgement section on the published story, if either used as a content or in any other form (paper or e-products).
