Theoretical Trainer - Raising Chickens Practices

Mada is a non-partisan, non-sectarian Lebanese NGO, established and registered in 2000 in Lebanon which aims to reinforce the relationship between local communities and their natural environment for the satisfaction of their substantial needs.

Job Brief

The theoretical trainer will work under the project “Employability and soft skills program for youth in Akkar, north Lebanon”, funded by UNICEF. This project is implemented by Mada Association in partnership with Empower.

The theoretical Trainer will conduct the program of 45 hours during 11 days targeting 18 to 27 youth.

Main Activities

  1. Activity 1: Animate the theoretical training according to the Curriculum that is validated by Mada Association. The contents delivered during the classes should be based on the curriculum prepared by Mada and should include but not limited to:
    1. Introduction – General Information
    2. Anatomy:
      1. Skin
      2. Digestive System
      3. Skeleton
      4. Respiratory System
      5. Blood Circulation
    3. Egg Production
    4. Housing 1
    5. Housing 2
    6. Hatching
    7. Diseases
    8. Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases
    9. Biosafety
    10. Vaccination
    11. Chickens Examination
    12. Bad Management Problems:
      1. Picking
      1. Greasy Liver
      2. Egg Retention
      3. Weak Bones
      4. Anus prolapse
      5. Heat Stress
      6. Feet Skin Infections
      7. Scaly Leg Mites
      8. Parasites
  1. Activity 2: Prepare a pre and post-test.
  2. Activity 3:  Prepare a list of materials and equipment needed
  3. Activity 4: Fill the Daily attendance sheets of the trainees
  4. Activity 5: Submit a final report at the end of the training stating:
    1. A brief summary of Training workflow
    2. Difficulties and Challenges
    3. Problems encountered
    4. Solutions and Recommendations

 Minimum Qualification and experience

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in delivering similar training.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary and/or related field.
  • Previous Experience in Chickens raising and life cycle
  •  Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
