Chef instructors have strong technical skills in classical and contemporary cuisine, and promote a positive and interactive learning environment with academic lectures and hands-on learning to culinary students. Chef instructors are able to relate to students and faculty in a team-oriented setting, promoting culinary activities and events.
Key responsibilities of a chef instructor include:
1-Responsible for all cooking class related planning and food purchases.
2-Preparing and presenting lectures and developing course outlines and curriculum
3-Evaluating student progress and facilitating student achievement
4-Preparing additional study materials for learners
5-Providing ongoing support, guidance, and advice to learners
6-Ensuring that the workplace is clean after each lesson.
7-Insure that precautions are taken both inside and outside the classroom to prevent the spread of COVID-19
8-Responsibilities also maintenance and supervision of the classroom/kitchen, administering written and practical tests, and creating a positive learning environment.
To be a chef instructor, interested applicants must have formal culinary education, in-depth professional experience and excellent communications skills.
