Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accountant will perform the following duties:
- Assist in managing the petty cash and follow petty cash expenditures and payments to suppliers and service providers in accordance to RET finance and procurement policies;
- Verify integrity and conformity of supporting financial documents before submitting for approval of settlements;
- Establish at the end of each month the bank reconciliations;
- Maintain petty cash book and prepare reconciliations for approval by the Finance Manager;
- Be responsible for a strict adherence to the account codes set forth in the Chart of Accounts;
- Assist in the preparation of staff and consultants’ contracts and related HR documents;
- Assist in Maintaining UpToDate administrative records and personnel files;
- Organize and file financial information and sensitive documents;
- Assist in organizing international travel (purchase of air tickets, booking of hotels);
- Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification/degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Previous experience in an NGO/International organization is a major asset
- Sound knowledge of book-keeping
- Excellent communication and diplomacy skills
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to strategically prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly and under challenging circumstances
