This project is part of the NAWAT consortium led by CARE International in Lebanon (CIL). It contributes to the economic and social stability of vulnerable populations (host community and refugees) in North of Lebanon”. The development project aims at strengthening the capacity of market actors (Businesses, Workforce, and support functions) in the North of Lebanon to cope with the current economic crisis and offer decent jobs opportunities for a vulnerable population while addressing inter-community tensions.

Objectives

As part of this project, a Market Research Analysis was carried out targeting the North governorate of Lebanon on 5 pre-identified sectors (textile and handicrafts, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, agro-food sector and construction, etc.) targeting especially Micro and small enterprises in order to better inform entrepreneurs about structural challenges and market opportunities of the local, national and regional market opportunities.

The study surveyed a large range of market actors at local and national levels, including public and private actors: business owners, municipalities, chamber of commerce and industry, ministry of economy, relevant civil society organizations. It also included the analysis of relevant legal frameworks, available secondary data and local and national related strategies and plans.

A successful Junior Business Analyst is looking to be recruited at this stage. He should be able to follow the below outline and work closely in collaboration with the team: 

1. Support the collection and analysis of the data of the research done, providing better solutions, technology integration and system improvements

2. Collecting and recording data, analyzing data and evaluating and presenting data solutions

3. Validating and documenting various system information and requirements 

4. Being able to perfectly work on the PowerBI Dashboard 

5. Data cleaning errors and preprocessing to prepare the dataset using the python programming language

6. Develop best practices for data collection and analyse current processes to determine what can be improved to achieve desired outcome 

7. Responsible for overseeing the implementation of technical aspect of the business project and solutions

Deliverables & Timelines:

1. The Junior Business Analyst is expected to work perfectly and lead of the PowerBI Dashboard 

2. The Junior Business Analyst is expected to reports to Project managers within CARE and TEC on weekly basis 

Junior Business Analyst Profile:

• Education: BS in Business, Marketing, Statistics, or any related field
• Experience: At least 1 or 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Proven Business Analysis experience
• Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc.)
• Understanding of the Lebanese north markets’ trends and needs

Competencies:

• Computer data entry skills (PowerBI is a must)
• Skill in the use of computer spreadsheets and/or database applications in the compilation of research data
• Ability to evaluate, verify, and edit research data
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
