Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Head of the Technical Team or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Gender and Protection Officer will be responsible for:
Coordination
Representing WHO at the protection working groups and humanitarian coordination forums, such as the protection working group, the sexual and gender-based violence task force, child protection working group, migrant working group, PSEA ICN, gender working group, and protection and isolation center sub-group.
Liaise with UN and international and local partner agencies to mainstream gender and protection through the COVID-19 response.
Serve as the liaison to protection and gender coordination forums on critical health issues, and provide regularly briefings and health related updates.
2) Technical Support
Draft, and develop technical guidance to support gender and protection mainstreaming needs, including checklists, and briefs.
Review, edit, and input on WHO and health sector materials, SOPs, reports, and IEC materials to ensure that protection and gender considerations are integrated.
Provide capacity building to staff and partners on protection and gender areas, including on PSEA, children’s rights, legal documents, and gender equality.
Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
