MEAL Officer

The specific responsibilities of the MEAL Officer will include the following:

  • Monitoring & Evaluation of Project
  • Support the development of M&E plans, indicator matrices, and clear data collection plan in discussion with the technical team and lead on all field data collection exercises
  • Work with project teams to develop an M&E Plan that outlines the different steps that are required, setting out who will deliver what and by when.
  • Planning and implementation of baseline surveys, monitoring and evaluation exercises and impact assessments when needed; (formulate assessments and M&E tools; Organizing and conducting baseline, PDMs, and producing analytical qualitative and quantitative reports)
  • Support data analysis, together with the project team, and share them in the required format. Seek solutions for more complex data management requirements by working with IT colleagues
  • Support systems to manage information generated by MEAL activities, such as complaints databases
  • Explore and implement M&E tool rationalization through continuous review and consultation with field staff
  • Conduct simple data analysis and present and disseminate information to inform project management
  • Assist in reviewing data bases and data tracking tools in order to maintain data quality for collating reliable and consistent data which meets minimum reporting requirements of donors and ADR.

 

  • Accountability
  • Assist the project team in strengthening the accountability mechanisms at project level
  • Develop tools and database to collect, track, and follow up on beneficiary feedback regarding a project
  • Set up simple systems to manage information generated by MEAL activities, such as complaints databases.
  • Ensure CIL accountability mechanism and materials are disseminated throughout operation area
  • Review, Reflection and Learning
  • Assist the project team in documenting lessons learnt and reports
  • Delivering any other responsibility assigned by the line manager
  • Ensure proper performance, learning and development and retention of the MEAL activities
  • Additional communications and information management duties as required / other tasks as assigned.
