Scope of responsibility:
- Back up of MSF midwifes in case of sickness or leaves.
- Implementation of all components of the sexual & reproductive health policy in the MSF project.
Function responsibilities include:
Midwifery activities:
- Is responsible for all midwifery activities (carry out pre-conceptual care, antenatal care, post-partum care, neonatal care).
Gyneacology consultation:
- Provide effective diagnosis and treatment for patients with gynaecology consultation (STI, UTI, menstrual disorder…)
Family planning:
- Ensure a proper provision of family planning to the population (women in reproductive age, as part of postnatal care, etc)
Patient care:
- Provide a correct and safe quality of care for the mothers, and the babies within all SRH services according to MSF protocols.
- Provide an accurate follow up for the pregnant women in the ANC including laboratory investigation and referral to specialist as required; organize referral to appropriate labour and delivery services for the pregnant woman.
- Ensure a post follow up after delivery (PNC care)
- Recognise complications in the maternity and high risk pregnancies in clinics consultation and refer appropriately.
- Conduct Normal deliveries independently and manage Obstetric Emergencies.
- Good knowledge of IPC measurement is required to provide a good quality of care for the patients.
- Ensure a referral availability, follow up and monitoring of the patient outcomes
- Provide an adequate care to patient victims of Sexual and Gender base violence
Pharmacy and medical equipment management:
- Follow the consumption of drugs on daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Prepare the weekly orders for the drugs to the dispensary from the central pharmacy in an organized manner and according to consumption to avoid stock ruptures.
Data collection :
To ensure a correct data collection to the managers and submitted on time
Outreach activity :
Being able to handle outreach activity (at community level)
Experience required:
- 1 year Midwife experience is required.
- Experience in family planning is required i.e. advantages and disadvantages of the different family planning techniques.
- Experience in maternity ward is recommended
Previous MSF/NGO experience is an added advantage.
Required qualification:
- Diploma or university degree in Midwife (Certificate is required).
- Licensed from the Lebanese Midwife associating with a work permit to work as a Midwife (اذن مزاولة المهنة قابلة قانونية ).
- Arabic is mandatory, English as an asset.
