Mobile Phone Repair Trainer

AND operates several safe spaces in Akkar (static and mobile) for women and adolescent girls. These spaces provide holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations Syrian and Lebanese, including women and girls, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma. These services include as well skills building trainings for women and girls on several, diverse topics including mobile phone repair training. Accordingly, AND is seeking a trainer with a strong background on Mobile phone repair ( hardware and software). The trainer is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs of the trainees with the training material in accordance with protection priorities determined for the women and children. Areas of Responsibility: AND is seeking the expertise of a professional mobile phone repair trainer to conduct a 12 hours workshop that covers the following: • The trainer will be responsible for teaching beneficiaries how to repair mobile phones which have malfunctioned and restore them to good operating condition. • Design and deliver a basic mobile repair curriculum based on beneficiaries needs and learning level. • How to run tests to assess the mobile phones' functionality • How to install and update phone software • All about troubleshoot wiring problems. • How to replace damaged parts and components such as batteries, LCD screens, keypads, buttons, ear speaker… • Hardware repair for most used mobile phones • Basic troubleshooting and functionality tests of Apple iOS and Android software. • Teach the trainees how to read phone manuals. • Create, update and maintain training materials, manuals, handouts, and practice exercises for efficient and effective delivery of the skills. • Develop hands on activities to help beneficiaries learn mobile repair through both one-on-one and group engagement, adapting resources to ensure all beneficiaries are able to make progress. The Trainer shall demonstrate the following: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable and diplomatic in working with a diverse range of people. • Communicate information with enthusiasm, clarity and patience. • Ability to demonstrate and communicate techniques clearly. • Provide a stimulating learning environment; The trainer shall provide the following deliverables: • Training Syllabus and timetable • Materials used throughout the workshop and training curriculum. • Training logistics (attendance sheet, record keeping…). • Appraisal by the end of the training with further recommendations. The trainer shall provide the training workshops to a group of 10 women in Akkar. Training locations: Akkar. Level of Effort The Trainer shall have the following number of hours allocated for this task: Task LOE Workshop on Mobile Phone Repair 12 hours/ Cycle TOTAL 12 hours Reporting The Trainer shall report to the project manager.
