Job Purpose
The objective of this assignment is to carry out, coordinate, support, and advice on LOWER’s financial procedures and any finance requirements, to ensure efficient and effective management of the financial system.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Review financial commitments and payment requests and ensure compliance with the plan and budget.
- Maintain accounting books and archive (both physical and electronic) of payments and different contracts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the projects
- Prepare payroll for employees on a monthly basis
- Preparation, declaration, and submission of employees’ social security benefits and tax on salary
- Prepare procurement process of contracting in close coordination with programs manager
- Perform physical verification of assets once a year ensuring all assets are accurately recorded.
- Ensure the presence of relevant financial documents and signed proof of payment for each expense including salaries and consultation (invoice, receipt, timesheets…)
- Attend meetings with partners when needed
- Review the budget utilization of projects and communicate any issues to the project management unit
- Suggest corrective financial actions if needed
- Input Data into the financial system in an accurate, efficient & timely manner.
- Assist finance office in the month-end closure process
- Provide the finance officer with different financial statements whenever needed (balance sheet, Statement of Accounts…)
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and request cash accordingly, in line with LOWER’s regulations
Experience required:
- Minimum 2 years work experience in a financial role
- Experience of at least two years of working for NGOs
- Experience of working with accounting systems
