1. BDD Academy
Under this section, the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager will be responsible for running the talent acquisition and development programs for the BDD Academy and across projects supported by international partners such as the World Bank Group. The goal of these programs aims to bridge the gap between youth in Lebanon and the private sector within the BDD Community and beyond.
One of the main upcoming projects under this umbrella is The Skilling Up Lebanon (“SUL”) Project which has the potential to improve the economic livelihood of its beneficiaries, many of which are suffering due to the dire economic situation in Lebanon by equipping the Lebanese workforce with skills to thrive in a digital economy. Specifically, this Project aims to support the promotion of digital skills under the Skilling Up Lebanon initiative launched by the World Bank in 2019. This initiative aims to prepare young women and men for the local, regional and global jobs of the future and to attract digital technology (DT) players to invest in the region. The specific outcomes expected for this component are to: (i) provide a proof of concept for the model proposed under the SUL with a view to attract additional funding to scale up and sustain the model; (ii) design and implement five pilot digital skills programs and train approximately 800 young men and women.
Expected tasks under this umbrella include:
Build a deep understanding of the existing ecosystem programs and the gaps available in the market (local and regional), follow-up on the skills needed by the BDD Community members and the wider private sector in Lebanon
Help position BDD and its community as a local and regional hub for talent
Support the BDD Academy community (100+ companies) in identifying and recruiting talent
Research, identify and establish contact with new programs and skilling initiatives that can be offered by the BDD Academy
Implement programs that support the Lebanese tech ecosystem in solving their most pressing needs, such as startup mentorship sessions, soft and hard skills training, foreign delegation visits, etc.
Manage implementation of existing talent programs, such as the summer camps and other projects from the BDD communities and partners
Research the job market, identify trends and future needs and make recommendations for the modification of the existing programs strategy as needed
Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent
Develop and continuously improve the BDD career portal by suggesting new features to the development team, test the features and introduce them
Work closely with the Marketing team for promoting positions on the portal across social media and suggest ideas for their campaign
Organize and participate in job fairs & recruitment events, and represent BDD companies
Coordinate with universities and key educational parties to source talent and implement trainings and career guidance activities
Handle the summer internship program by gathering the needs of the community, contacting universities to promote the positions, screening CVs, sending shortlisted candidates, obtaining feedback from hiring companies, and launching the program
Develop, plan, execute and manage approved trainings from A to Z, with partners/BDD Academy workshops and events including fee structure, outreach requirements, ticket sales, payment follow up and collection
Receive and assess all training collaboration requests and manage the process of sourcing key trainings from well-known providers
Produce monthly reports on the talent management activity
Manage a system/database for maintaining all contacts, information and deadlines for each received proposal/delivered training program
Manage day-to-day BDD Academy training provision, answer any training provider inquiry, communicate with the programs beneficiaries when needed on email, Telegram or other community platforms
Deliver under the umbrella of the World Bank Grant, the Skilling Up Lebanon (“SUL”) Project, within the guidelines stipulated by the BDD Academy Executive Director who will be managing this Project
2. Human Resources - ZRE
In this section, the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager will be leading the overall implementation of HR processes/functions at ZRE: including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, departures, learning & development, and the overall corporate culture.
Expected tasks under this umbrella include:
Overall responsibility of manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and departures
Work closely with the business to understand and address business issues for our scope and provide proactive advice in line with our overall HR strategy
Conduct job analysis to create job descriptions and identify job competencies
Lead the career development activities to support ZRE’s talent management
Prepare offers for selected candidates at ZRE, deliver onboarding presentations, prepare welcome kit, communications, and related documents
Follow-up on probation of employees and establishes wage and salary structure, pay policies, and employee benefit programs
Responsible for all human resource activities including employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training and development in addition to all NSSF paperwork
Protect interests of employee and the company in accordance with company HR policies and governmental laws
Administer the leave balance and transportation for employees on monthly basis
Design and kick-off performance appraisal, follow-up on completion, review and re-visit objectives as necessary
Develop internal communication messages, assess employees’ needs by conducting organizational surveys in order to build and sustain a positive and transparent culture and implement initiatives
Develop and maintain human resource databases and filing systems
Search and suggest trainings for ZRE and invite the participants to the training, send evaluation forms and prepare reports
Support in Team building activities for ZRE such as monthly birthdays, team building activities, corporate outings, and other events
Assist ZRE employees in HR requests on a daily basis and initiate and maintain effective programs for workforce retention
Develop and update HR policies on periodic basis
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
8+ years of relevant HR experience
2+ years of experience in program management
Working on internationally funded programs with universities is a plus
Excellent command of English and Arabic
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Aptitude in decision-making
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Active listener with a high EQ
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to details
HR qualifications / certifications are preferable
