Community Field Support (Kiosk focal point)

INTERSOS is a non-profit Humanitarian Aid Organization that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Established in 1992 with support from the Italian Federation of Trade Unions, its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected.

INTERSOS identifies with the core values of CONCORD, the European Confederation of NGOs; it adheres to international codes of conduct for humanitarian organizations and the values and principles expressed within those codes. INTERSOS is recognized by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the European Commission and the principal UN agencies; it is privileged to hold an advisory status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
INTERSOS is an independent association which, through its own humanitarian operators, intervenes to effectively answer the needs of people in serious crises situations, mainly in the world's poorest regions, who are suffering, deprived of rights, dignity and essentials goods. It maintains a flexible operating structure. The head office in Italy coordinates, supports and monitors the planned activities in the countries of intervention carried out by decentralized offices.

 

Job Title          : Community Field Support (Kiosk focal point)

Reports to           : Protection Officer – Community Services

Duty Station       : Bekaa

Job Purpose:

 

The Community Field Support will act as the focal person for the Kiosks set up within INTERSOS Community Development Center (CDC)

 

 

General Duties:

 

  1. Support refugees in the use of the Kiosk, a device through which the user can be able to remotely access and update her/his information
  2. Facilitate orientation session at CDC level
  3. Promote the use of the device within the communities
  4. Be the responsible person for the kiosk troubleshooting
  5. Conduct feedback sessions with refugees using the kiosk
  6. Supervise the crowd management
  7. Availability to participate in meetings and trainings in/out of the centers;
  8. Pledge to work with the refugees with respect and dignity and act responsibly, in line with all of protection principles with a special focus on DO NO HARM principle;
  9. Behave properly and positively with refugees and respect the norms of International law; 
  10. Treat refugees equally without discrimination in accordance with the principles and standards of INTERSOS (Act according to the CPIE Minimum standards);
  11. Support INTERSOS field staff in Ad-hoc activity (if requested by Project or protection manager) if required;
  12. Work comfortably with diversity/all target groups;
  13. Facilitate and encourage the participation of the Refugee community, notably the most vulnerable, ensuring proper attention is paid to any specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties.
  14. Abide to the code of conduct (Act according to the guiding principles of S/GBV and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ensure a non-discriminatory approach,  
  15. Act according to the best interest of the beneficiary, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest); 
  16. Ensure ability to work inside and outside the CDCs (mobilization and outreach work);
  17. Ensure ability to deliver activities with different working modalities (in person, remotely/virtually or hybrid) when required; 
  18. Work closely with the Protection officer and Senior Social Worker to establish schedule of activities, and be available to support with reporting (daily narrative, pre/post report, daily reporting, etc…);
  19. Ensure providing a positive image of INTERSOS while communicating with external actors
  20. Maintain the safety and good care of INTERSOS assets;
  21. Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors;

Professional Competencies:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Technology friendly.
  • Ability to use of the main Computer Operating System (Oss).
  • MS. Proficiency (Word, Excel, PPT). 
  • Reporting skills.
  • Driving license issued since more than 1 year.
