Accountant (x2)

Background:
The accountant should be a well-organized person, files all the payments in a proper way and keeps track on all the hard copies. She/he should be familiar with the accounting system and data entry. Also, she/he should follow up with focal point persons on updating payments tracking sheet and knows how to review payments when submitted to the finance department.

Job Purpose:
An Accountant is responsible of a day to day data entry, reviewing the data on the system, filing all the vouchers, and preparing/sharing/following up on the tracking sheets with respective people and be involved in the preparation of the CTJ’s. She/he checks, reviews, and gives the green light to his colleagues to process the payments and book accruals etc..

Main Responsibilities:

  • Makes sure all accounting entries are booked to the Cospoint System on a daily basis.
  • Correspond with vendors as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records.
  • Organize and maintain Accounting filing system.
  • Review all vendor requests received from all departments prior sharing them with the Finance Manager.
  • Assure accuracy of supporting documentation and entries for accounts reporting.
  • Oversee system for Accounting documentation transactions.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or clarification for Accounting records.
  • Ensure that all allocations on projects are accurate, and eligible based on donor’s requirement.
  • Assist in the payroll preparation and review.
  • Maintain accurate and complete Accounting records and audit information.
  • Reviews all consultants, primary health care centers, service agreements and any payment submitted to the finance department.
  • Ensures that transactions are complete and accurate within the timeframe already agreed between all the departments.
  • Review GL on a weekly/biweekly basis and share comments with colleagues if any.
  • Assist in the preparation of the tax authorities report [MOF, VAT]
  • Assists in the monthly financial closure.
  • Any additional task requested from the Finance Manager

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Essential Experience:

  • 1-3 years of Accounting experience with international projects preferred.
  • Experience with accepted accounting procedures desired

Desirable Experience:
Experience working with INGOs preferred
