Agricultural Trainer

Basmeh and Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Livelihood Technical Manager and the Livelihood Project Manager, the Agricultural trainer will provide technical support for the implementation of the “input supply vouchers project” to support the small-scale farmers in Bekaa

DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

• Conduct field visits to the planted areas in Barleias & Al Marj
• Deliver Trainings and awareness sessions adapted to the needs of small-scale farmers selected (180 Farmer) on the proper use of the input supplies (Seeds, Fertilizers, irrigation networks, etc.)
• Organizing Farmers in groups according to their types of products
• Enhancing cultural practices and promoting the use of new technologies in cropping, irrigation, harvesting and post-harvesting
• Assist farmers in conserving the biodiversity and implementing techniques that conserve soil and water.
• Improve the processing and storage of agricultural products.
• Provide recommendations on potential crops for different plots

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering
• Knowledge in food security, livelihoods,
• Familiarity with food security and livelihood interventions, and humanitarian assessment is preferred
• Good team worker, good listener, high communication skills
• Excellent Arabic mandatory, English an asset
• Good skills using MS Word, Excel
• Ability to work under pressure
