Communications & Social Media Coordinator

Under the broad guidance of the Head of Communications and the Head of Programs, the Communications Coordinator supports in the planning, developing and implementing communication strategies to promote LTA’s advocacy activities. The incumbent will more specifically be responsible for the implementation of Media and Communications activities and the production of related deliverables pertaining the ENSURING ACCOUNTABILITY IN RECONSTRUCTION AND REFORM EFFORTS IN LEBANO (EARELL). 

 

SPECIFIC TASKS:

  • Program Communications for Advocacy & Awareness

With the guidance of the Head of Communications, the Communications & Social Media Coordinator will work closely with LTA Program Unit to ensure that relevant program materials, particularly EARELL project deliverables (awareness and advocacy and any other outreach material that communicates the project's objectives and activities) donor reports, success stories, proposals, etc. are developed and disseminated to key stakeholders through relevant media and network channels. 

  • Media Relations

Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, media outlets (print, TV, radio, web etc.) and key stakeholders to increase visibility and coverage of LTA activities in the media (print, broadcast and digital) and maintain a media database that will be deployed to organize press conferences and other events.

Specific activities may include: 

•    Maximize opportunities for LTA to be featured in various types of media messages, respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews;
•    Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics;
•    Draft and edit articles, press releases, human interest stories and other advocacy/information materials;
•    Maintain a library of media coverage, clippings etc;

Collaborate with the media by organizing project site visits, facilitate photo coverage and TV footage and utilizing both web-based and traditional media as appropriate. 

  • Digital Communications / Social Media

Support in the management and maintenance of LTA’s official website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) by generating compelling content and ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across all the platforms.  

  • LTA Brand & Communications

Support the Media and Communications and the Program Unit in the timely and quality production of advocacy and branding materials such as periodicals, annual and donor reports, briefing notes, success stories, picture stories, videos, etc. 
The Communications Coordinator will develop and archive communication materials, including digital, such as publications, press releases and clippings, photographs, audio-visual materials, web resources etc.

  • Donor Relations

Develop and maintain an updated list of LTA donors and special interest groups, particularly those targeted by the EARELL project. Assist in developing donor visit schedules and supporting documents. Support preparation of background materials, briefs and information kits for visiting donors and high-profile guests/visitors. 

  • Events/Campaigns

Assist the Head of Communications, the Head of Programs and particularly the Senior Community Mobilizer in organizing and generating public support for special events and campaigns to promote LTA’s strategic advocacy goals. Support organization of workshops, seminars, campaigns, events and project review meetings including agendas and meeting minutes.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation

Support in monitoring and evaluating the impact of communication materials and advocacy events/campaigns to target audiences.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Communications & Social Media Coordinator will have to work closely with all LTA team members on a daily basis. He/She will maintain close interaction with communications and program staff LTA and other TI chapters as relevant, and with entities associated with communications and advocacy within and outside the government, including the local media and CSO partners.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
  • Two to four years of similar work experience is required. 
  • Excellent written and oral English, Arabic and French communication skills are required;
  • He/she should have advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio, Publisher, and Teams);
  • Proven strong knowledge of existing social media platforms;
  • Candidates with basic design and layout skills and adept in using Adobe Photoshop etc. are an added advantage; 
  • Ability to complete tasks on time;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, coordinate, and plan with relevant team members;
  • Ability to give and receive feedback constructively;
