Social worker

The social worker will be responsible for referring cases to internal and external relevant services based on needs, receive referrals from other stakeholders and follow up on the service provision.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  1. Collect data and referrals from the field staff (educators, lactation specialists…)
  2. Refer cases internally and/or to relevant services as needed (health services, cash assistance…)
  3. Receive referrals from others stakeholders
  4. Contact the beneficiaries to collect information when needed.
  5. Follow up on the referred cases to ensure their access to the right services
  6. Make sure that informed consent has been obtained from beneficiaries before undertaking any action or referral
  7. Ensure timely reporting of the activities to the supervisor
  8. Perform other duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA): 

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Experience:  

  • 2-3 years of work experience as social worker
  • Previous experience in working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.
