Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) is a non-governmental organization working to dismantle systemic racism and achieve social, economic, and gender justice for migrant workers and racialized groups in Lebanon since 2011. Migrant Community Center (MCC) is a safer space for migrants living under Kafala. MCC works with migrant domestic workers to improve their living and working conditions and build their capacities to self-advocate for their rights as agents and leaders of change. Its programs include community-building, capacity-building, psychosocial wellbeing, community-led initiatives, and advocacy.

Job Purpose
The Migrant Community Center (MCC) in Beirut is seeking to recruit 3 Activities Officers to lead on the implementation of different programs for migrant communities at the center.
- The community-building program, which involves information, outreach, and social activities.
- The capacity-building program, which involves training workshops, communication classes, and learning applications (through migrant-led activities, initiatives, and collaborations for example).
- The migrant-led initiatives program, which involves mentorship, coordination, and ongoing support for community-based ideas by informal organizations and members of MCC.

Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities
Program Activities
- Developing a program framework and bi-annual work plans for activity implementation
- Organizing meetings and focused group discussions for ongoing community involvement
- Leading on outreach, orientation, registration, and follow-up with program participants
- Handling center arrangements, logistics, paperwork, and payments for program activities
- Arranging quality translation, design, and dissemination of relevant resources and materials
- Liaising with relevant volunteers, interns, facilitators, and service-providers and contractors
- Reinforcing Covid-19 precautionary measures at all center-related activities
Internal Communication
- Handling communication with program participants in-person and via whatsapp
- Responding to members’ questions, requests, and relaying any emerging issues
- Participating in relevant members and Members Board meetings at the center
- Maintaining strong relationships with partners, members, and visitors of MCC
Reporting Processes
- Handling documentation for program activities (photos, videos, testimonials, minutes, etc.)
- Handling the feedback process with program participants (forms, meetings, documentation, etc.)
- Compiling daily activity reports, attendance sheets, and other reporting requirements as needed
- Participating in monthly reporting meetings and biannual learning meetings with the center team
- Contributing to the oral history and archiving project at the center
- Providing weekly content for social media and fundraising
Center Admin
- Handling the opening/closing routine of the center as per the internal security protocols
- Handling the petty-cash of the program as per the internal financial management system
- Ensuring that program resources are used efficiently as per the internal procurement system
Communications & Work Relationships
Internal Communication
- Regular contact with Operations Manager
- Regular contact with the overall MCC Team
- Occasional contact with Casework, Advocacy, and Programs teams
External Communication
- Regular contact with members of MCC
- Occasional contact with external service-providers contractors
- Occasional contact with reporters, researchers, and partner organizations
Framework, Boundaries, and Decision-Making Authority
The MCC Activities Officer has the authority to make informed decisions on operational matters and take necessary actions, in prior consultation with the Operations Manager as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Education: MA in social sciences (sociology, anthropology, psychology, or related field).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience with similar roles in community centers or NGOs.
- Knowledge: Adequate knowledge of migrant domestic workers issues in Lebanon is a must.
- Training Certification (not required but a plus): MS Office (Excel), Project Management, MEAL, Facilitation, Conflict Resolution, Digital Security, Archiving, and/or Research.
- Soft skills: interpersonal communication skills, ability to multitask, highly organized,
people-person able to be welcoming, manage positive relationships, and mediate conflicts. - Languages: Highly proficient in English, Arabic, French; Priority to tri-lingual applicants.
