Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world
from destruction. Greenpeace Middle Eastand North Africa (Greenpeace MENA) is the latest organization to join the Greenpeace network which consists of 27 independent national and regional Greenpeace offices in over 55 countries around the world.
Greenpeace MENA will prioritise environmental problems from this important region, offering solutions for its people and working hand in hand with the local communities in order to push for a greener and more peaceful world.
The intern will provide general support to the Major Gifts Officer at Greenpeace Middle East and North Africa to implement, coordinate and execute various functions within this department. This will allow the intern to develop new skill sets and to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Greenpeace MENA fundraising work.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate with supporters or donors, answering queries and providing support
- Help in organizing events either online or offline; drafting agenda, gather material, take notes, follow-ups, etc
- Assist in researching potential foundation, and major donor (individuals who can donate 5,000 USD or more)
- Assist in procurement when needed e.g gather price quotation
- Assist in the implementation of donor cultivation and solicitation events and activities
- Attending and taking minutes of meetings
- Organizing the files of Fundraising Drive and making sure all files are added there
- Draft and proofread professional correspondence and fundraising materials.

Requirements :
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Excellent creative writing skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, creative and enthusiastic.
- Desire to learn, develop and advance.
- Ability to multitask.
- Genuine interest in working in the NGO sector, and an interest in environmental issues is highly desirable.
Qualification
Education:
University Degree in Communications, English literature or related field.
Language:
Strong verbal and writing communication skills in Arabic and English.
