Communication Officer

Danmission is looking for a Communication Officer (CO) for our MENA Regional Office in Beirut. The Communication Officer is responsible for developing and implementing communication tasks related to Danmission’s projects in the Middle East, creating engagement through social media content as well as producing concrete communication and visibility products. Furthermore, the Officer will assist in public relation matters, networking and logistical tasks.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Design, development and implementation of Communication, Visibility and Content plan for Danmission’s projects in MENA
• Development and implementation of a social media strategy incl. day-to-day management of social media platforms.
• Support Project Managers in developing and implementing project-specific communication plans, in line with donors’ guidelines and requirements.
• Plan and perform training of local partners, staff and volunteers
• Produce communications and visibility materials such as best practices, success stories, case studies, brochures, posters, videos, photos, etc. in accordance with communication plans and donor requirements.
• Outreach to media and dissemination of project materials as well as publicity and visibility of events, achievements and impact of Danmission activities
• Write and edit articles, press releases etc. in English and in Arabic
• Contribute to the overall reporting (M&E) on communication activities related to Danmission’s projects and initiatives.
• Management of communication and visibility budget
• Assisting in the planning and coordination of visits etc. from HQ, partner organizations and stakeholders incl. setting up meetings, organize program and support to internal and external delegations during their stay in Lebanon and/or regionally.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES:

• BA Degree in communications, journalism, advertising, public relations, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of communications
• Experience with strategic planning on communication and visibility
• Experience with developing various communication and visibility products
• Able to plan, design and produce creative social media content
• Experience with photography and video editing
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with fluency in English and in Arabic

• Lebanese national or able to work in Lebanon
• Passionate about promoting interfaith dialogue, peacebuilding efforts, human rights or similar.
• Interested to work for a Danish faith-based organization and represent the values of Danmission

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: One year with the possibility of renewal.
