Intern - Migration

The Migration Unit at the Regional Delegation is responsible for the coordination of Zone-wide efforts to implement the IFRC Global Strategy on Migration 2018 – 2022 in MENA, to advance the goals of the Cross Regional Programme Humanitarian Assistance and Protection for People on the Move in MENA and to lead the Secretariat of the RCRC MENA Migration Network.

Under the supervision of Regional Migration Advisor, the Migration Intern will support the Regional Migration Unit efforts to efficiently conduct its strategy and initiatives. The Migration Intern will support the unit with high-quality provision for the day-to-day tasks.

 

Alignment to the IFRC’s objectives and strategy

As part of the implementation of the IFRC Global Strategy on Migration and of the IFRC MENA Migration Framework, to support the IFRC MENA Regional Migration Advisor to implement migration related plans and programmes in the MENA Region.

 

The Intern will:

- Undertake analysis of historical and current IFRC support for National Societies engaged in population movements operations in MENA region

- Support the organization and coordination of the meetings of the RCRC MENA Migration Network, including sharing documents and taking minutes

- Support the development of the regular IFRC migration and displacement newsletter (MENA contribution)

- Support with regular reporting for the IFRC MENA Migration Unit

- Support the translation into Arabic of documents or meetings

- Support administrative and finance tasks of the Unit

 

The Intern will be supported:

- In learning IFRC and RCRC Movement approach to migration and displacement

- In learning RCRC Movement working modalities, policies and working environment

- In analyze migration and displacement dynamics in the MENA region

 

Start date: As soon as possible.

Conditions and Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be based at the IFRC MENA Regional Delegation 5 days a week- Monday to Friday on a full-time basis for a period of three months.
