Project Clinical Psychologist

General Purpose of the position:
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the training of JRS Lebanon Bourj Hammoud staff in matters of Psychological First Aid, recognition of symptoms and support for persons in distress in collaboration with the Country Clinical Psychologist. Furthermore she/he initiates and supervises referrals of cases to outside experts. Less complicated cases will be attended by her/him at the home of the refugee or in JRS’ field offices. The Clinical Psychologist debriefs the Social Workers regularly. This position reports to the Project Director and collaborates closely with the Country Clinical Psychologist.

Training of JRS Staff

Conducting of sessions on Psychological First Aid and recognition of symptoms indicating psychological and/or psychiatric condition.

Conducting sessions on how to support persons in distress and trauma.

Conducting sessions on self-care and stress handling.

Conducting bimonthly Social Workers meeting and ongoing support.

Development of PSS Programs addressing the changing needs of JRS Projects.

Staff Care

Regular debriefing and coaching of Social Workers (in all JRS Lebanon Bourj Hammoud Projects) in their places of work.

Collaboration with External Experts

Planning and facilitating common workshops with External Experts for JRS staff.

Identification and assessment of individual cases for referral.

Follow-up on any referred case.

Administration

Keeping proper patient files.

Writing condensed reports of the activities done and the cases treated.

Submitting monthly, half-year and annual reports.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Permission to practice the profession from the ministry of public health (as clinical psychologist)

Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field

Proven managerial experience

Background in Trauma Therapy, GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset

Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken is required

Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
