Mental Health Program Coordinator

Tasks:

  • Monitoring and evaluation of mental health screening processes, results analysis, prioritization and distribution of cases, enrollment of beneficiaries/clients and follow-up on sessions period (extension, exception, etc.).
  • Training staff on SOGIESC related mental health practices, do no harm protocols, reporting templates and screening tools.
  • Creation, design and implementation of tools and templates to monitor and evaluate the program’s efficiency, cases, and therapists/counselors’ progress.
  • Staff and projects management and evaluation through group and 1-1 meetings, reflecting on implementation, strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats.
  • Following-up on targets and deliverables, monitoring the activity tracking sheets and meeting with the general management team when need be.
  • Monthly reporting to programs coordinator/funders.
  • Monitoring final case files reports and the ones requested from protection officers, other institutions, and organizations.
  • Monitoring interdepartmental referrals.
  • Follow-up on external referrals.
  • Interviewing and recruiting mental health staff with the support of the management team.
  • Expanding external referral pathways based on the community’s needs under mental health.
  • Networking with other NGOs on topics and potential collaborations related to mental health.
  • Setting a general strategic plan for 2023 including expansion of the mental health program into a department. 

 Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in psychology-related fields.
  • A clear understanding of DSM-5 and ICD-11 diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of PHQ-9 and C-SSRS.
  • Experience with counseling or therapy, or as a frontliner (in direct contact with applicants, clients, and beneficiaries). Previous experience with LGBTQIA+ individuals is highly appreciated.
  • Knowledge and experience in projects/programs coordination.
  • Ability to evaluate the situation, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and detect high-risk cases amongst others and work with emergencies.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Total understanding and execution of the “do no harm” and “non-discriminatory” principles.
  • Excellent understanding OF SOGIESC and empathizing with the LGBTQI+ population.
  • Familiarity with updated LGBTQIA+ terminologies, intersectional risks, and contexts.
  • Familiarity with referral pathways and systems.
  • Very good time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent reporting skills. 
  • Fluency in verbal and written Arabic and English. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
