Parenting Facilitator

LOST is seeking a Parenting Skills facilitator to work in the community and support volunteers in the organization of Life Skills activities for adolescent girls and boys and Parenting activities for caregivers in the following locations :Baalbek – Bedneyel- Qaa


Major Responsibilities:

Mobilize groups of adolescents and caregivers to participate in psychosocial activities provided by LOST, including emotional support groups, skills-building, non-formal education and recreational activities.

Deliver life skills activities for caregivers on PLAN Curricula through mobile and center-based activities

Deliver Parenting skills activities for caregivers based on the LOST’s parenting skills modules:

Parents of children from 8 till 14 years old
Parents of youths from 15 till 18 years old

Coach volunteers in the delivery of like skills activities for adolescents and the Parenting skills for caregivers

Refer youth that might need additional individual services to case management team members

Collaborate with CP caseworkers and other CP team members to ensure GBV and child protection responses are taking into account specific needs, vulnerabilities of adolescent girls and boys and youth-friendly communication techniques are used.

Daily collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled and shared.

Promptly reports concerns or incidents to LOST’s management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for LOST’s Programs

Ensure activities are done in accordance with LOST’s logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs

 

Key Working Relationships:
Position Reports to: CP Officer and Program Manager

Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: Outreach team, CP team
External: case management unit
Job Requirements:
Education: technical diploma in social science or pedagogy preferable
Work Experience: 2 years’ work experience minimum
Experience in working with children and organizing activities
Experience working in NGO is a plus
Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable  
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  
Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field
Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
Good communication skills

Language Skills: 

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus
Certificates or Licenses:
Proficient in Word and excel
