Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Kafa is looking to contract an M&E Officer on a part-time basis. Kafa is seeking an M&E Officer to assist in developing and refining monitoring and evaluation tools and systems to monitor the efficacy of its programs, including identification of best practices in data collection, analysis of existing data and identification, and closure of gaps in existing program data.

The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities for Kafa's programs. The M&E Officer will work closely with the project coordinator, who will support her/him in collecting the data and conducting questionnaires to monitor the programs progress on a regular basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and design Kafa’s overall M&E framework and plan for programs; including reporting baseline, and M&E data collection

Ensure the alignment of M&E activities with program goals.

Recommend further improvement of the logical frame work.

Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success.

Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results

Monitor the sustainability of the project's results.

Provide feedback to the Project coordinator on project strategies and activities.

Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the project coordinator.

Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Project Manager in preparing relevant reports.

Assess existing data collection tools, information systems, and monitoring approach, and identify gaps, improvements, and adaptations required to promote more rigorous and impact-oriented monitoring system.

Create and develop new quantitative and qualitative tools, templates, and internal protocols as needed for program staff to collect data that will establish baselines, measure changes in status, and assess overall impact of programs.

Lead and conduct analysis of quantitative and qualitative data collected on programs outputs, impacts, and outcomes.

Ensure M&E tools and activities are aligned with Kafa’s policies related to protection from sexual abuse, exploitation, and child safeguarding.

Design trainings on new M&E methodology for program staff and develop corresponding materials to build the capacity of the team.

Bachelor’s degree in international development or any relevant field;
Minimum three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation and accountability in protection projects;
Demonstrate ability to develop log frame and M&E plans and tools;
Experience in research, data collection, report writing, and analysis;
Excellent English writing and reporting skills;
Excellent experience in MS Office and knowledge of advanced research methods and statistical analysis.
