Skills training Supervisor

Assignment

The skills training supervisor will be roving between the two community development centers of Ain El Remmaneh and Haret Hreik.

 

Under the supervision of the head of centers and the field coordinator, the skills training supervisor will monitor the classes provided by the trainers to improve the quality of the skills classes and facilitate access to market / labor market for the persons of concern. He/She will communicate/ consult with the CDCs staff, trainers and participants in the skills courses throughout the supervision. This will help build constructive feedback for the evaluation process and way forward.

 More specifically for the handmade products classes, the skills training supervisor will consult with PoCs/ participants and trainers and suggest new designs for the handmade items, as well as monitor the quality of handmade items.

 

The Skills training supervisor will support the trainers in the following handmade classes: sewing and patchwork, crochet, klim, recycling, bamboo, accessories, embroidery and wood carving, AC maintenance, mobile maintenance, computer maintenance, barber, photoshop and graphic design.

 

Tasks and duties

  1. Supervision of skills training courses and trainers:
  • Supervise and monitor all skills training courses provided in the CDCs to ensure trainers conduct sessions based on agreed curricula and quality
  • Conduct regular meetings with the trainers and the CDCs teams and provide productive feedback to the team of trainers and coordination team
  • Support the trainers in updating training manuals, based on market needs assessment
  • Support the trainers in developing and adapting the curricula to the market requirements and to the skills and needs of POCs
  • Train the trainers on the Vocational Training’s approach and methodology with POCs
  • Prepare the purchase requests related to the materials needed for the classes with the trainers
  • Support in recruitment of trainers when needed
  • Prepare a monthly report

 

  1. Supervision of handmade products skills training:
  • Develop a strategy for handmade production classes (design, marketing, identification of markets) in cooperation with Amel communication department and Menna shop focal point
  • Support the handmade trainers in preparing training modules for sewing, crochet, klim, recycling, bamboo, accessories, embroidery and wood carving and assist in designs proposals to ensure that products are trendy and meets the market needs.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with Menna shop focal point on a regular basis
  • Monitor the quality of produced items

 

  1. Facilitate link with market
  • Support the team in assessing market needs and identifying potential employers
  • Support the team in suggesting new vocational training activities and new methodology adapted to market requirements
  • Seeking marketing opportunities for the products

Link PoCs with potential employers when relevant

- Advanced training in the production and design of handmade products
- Advanced training in leadership and supervision of diverse groups
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Proven capacity in leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proven experience in the production and design of handmade products, as well as linkage to markets.
- Experience in designing training manuals and approaches of relevant skills courses is a plus
- Previous experience in working with persons from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with refugees is highly desirable.
