The Lebanese Transparency Association – No Corruption (LTA):
LTA is the National Chapter of Transparency International (TI) in Lebanon. Realizing the unacceptable levels of corruption reached in Lebanon and the need to act against it, a group of academics, lawyers, intellectuals, economists, and businesspersons joined forces to establish LTA in May 1999 in a bid to curb corruption through civil society.
The organization resorts to all appropriate means to fight corruption, raise public awareness, improve the quality of life, and encourage civil society to take measures towards transparency and accountability.
LTA advocates for reform by focusing on systemic improvement and by building coalitions with other anti-corruption stakeholders, including the government, parliamentarians, the private sector, media institutions, the international community, and civil society organizations.
Project Background:
This project aims to ensure greater accountability and transparency of humanitarian aid and reconstructions efforts particularly for those most affected by the Beirut port explosion. It will do so by better equipping local civil society and journalist networks in their roles as watchdogs, by supporting state actors to improve government reforms and manage crisis in transparency and by equipping citizens to monitor and report corruption, particularly in areas of Beirut most affected by the explosion. Through this project, Transparency International (Secretariat and the Lebanese Transparency Association) in cooperation with the American University of Beirut will strengthen and sustain its independent watchdog function to support efforts alongside other Lebanese civil society actors to push for a more transparent and reform-oriented Lebanon.
Scope of Work:
LTA seeks to develop an online mobile application for its Lebanon Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (LALAC). The mobile application serves as a user-friendly tool for citizens to report cases of corruption that they witness or are subjected to. Accessible to all Lebanese people across the country, this mobile application also provides advice and information through customizable notifications pertaining to legal advice on any anti-corruption-related matters. In addition to reporting, should they be victims or witnesses of corruption, they will be able to upload their supporting documents and proof and receive online/remote legal advice from the LALAC team. Moreover, the app should respect the confidentiality of the users and the privacy of their information and should adhere and be compatible with LTA’s database and be compatible with the Salesforce platform for the LALAC data management and reporting.
Interested candidates are encouraged to send their Cover Letter, CV and Financial Proposal to procurement@transparency-lebanon.org, with “LALAC Application Developer” in the subject line.
