SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this consultation is to develop a curriculum for capoeira sessions and deliver those sessions to the selected groups of beneficiaries (children). They will help to improve the children’s’ well-being; they can also help children adjust to life changes, feel less anxious or depressed, and generally experience clearer thinking and more positive emotions.
RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:
Perform the following duties:
- Develop the Capoeira curriculum that will be adopted by SAWA.
- Design interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve children’s' psychological, physical, and social health
- Plan, lead, and evaluate the Capoeira training sessions.
- Deliver the Capoeira curriculum to the different groups of children.
- Design and implement group music games that develop children's rhythmic and lyrical skills.
- Include choral and theatrical exercises in the sessions.
- Design a musical theater performance by the participants with the help of the coaches.
- Maintain all required musical instruments
- Monitor the performance of participants and evaluate the effectiveness of the sessions.
- Deliver the required reports.
- Coordinate all aspects of sessions with the PM.
- Anticipate, monitor and report any problem arising from or around training sessions or any elements of the capoeira team’s work to the PM in the appropriate time
- Ensure that all relevant data required from each session is accurately and timely reported
- Abide by the PSEA Policy, Code of conduct, and the Child Safeguarding Policy.
REPORTS TO:
CP Program Manager
EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:
- Master’s degree in music therapy, art, or related degree field;
- Experience in working with NGO/ humanitarian organization/ UN agencies
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Capoeira Trainer, music therapist or in any other relevant field.
- Has knowledge in conducting similar missions.
- The ability to work independently with flexible working hours.
- High sense of confidentiality and humanitarian ethics (code of conduct).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Keen on Meeting Deadlines
- Ability to show initiative and take responsibility
