Background:

The Danish Refugee Council assists refugees and internally displaced persons across the globe: we provide emergency aid, fight for their rights, and strengthen their opportunity for a brighter future. We work in conflict-affected areas, along the displacement routes, and in the countries where refugees settle. In cooperation with local communities, we strive for responsible and sustainable solutions. Operating since 2004 in Lebanon, DRC has addressed the needs and rights of vulnerable populations, working initially with Palestinian refugees (since 2004), Iraqi refugees (2007-2010), Lebanese IDPs (during the 2006 conflict), migrant domestic workers (since 2009) and, since 2011, responding to the Syrian refugee crisis.

Objectives:

Under its Objective to improve employment opportunities for vulnerable job seekers and their households through improved capacities to identify and pursue decent livelihoods pathways, DRC will hire private sector service providers ready to implement 8 Vocational Trainings in Zahle, Ghazze, Kfarzabad and Nasriyeh in different topics to enhance beneficiaries technical and marketable skills.

The topics are similar to the below:

• Agriculture
• Cooking and Food Hygiene and Safety
• Accounting
• Secretary
• Web Design
• Mobile and Computer Repair
• AC Maintenance and installation
• Veterinary Technician

The Vocational Training courses duration are expected to be of a minimum 60 hours and maximum of 120 hours per course provided over 4 days a week, for 4 – 5 hours per day over the period of 4 to 8 Weeks. The number of hours provided are for calculation purpose, while the final number of hours will be based on Training requirements and as per the Service Provider recommendations. The Training should include theoretical content in addition to the practical application of skills taught. These courses will be delivered in mobile centres which the Service Providers should be able to allocate.
