KW is a feminist organization based in Beirut that works on storytelling and oral history, researching women’s stories and histories, developing and making accessible more feminist resources.
KW will hire a cohort of three researchers. Each researcher is expected to conduct interviews and oral histories around a specific feminist issue in Lebanon, its histories and its key figures. Each researcher is also expected to draft an essay of 5000 words based on their research that will contribute to KW’s upcoming publication. KW will agree with the researchers on the topics.
Expected timeframe for this position: March-June 2022.
Qualifications:
Researchers must have:
- MA in Humanities or Social Sciences (or equivalent experience)
- No less than three years of experience in conducting research
- Knowledge of oral history
- Familiarity with, and interest in, feminist research and writings in Lebanon, and general knowledge of feminist methodologies.
- Interest in non-academic styles of writing is a plus
- Residency in Lebanon is important for this position, although a Lebanese nationality is not required. Fluency in Arabic is also required for this position.
