Social Worker (YC Jbeil)

Main tasks & Responsibilities:

1. Ensure proper youth transfer process from the AC to the YC program

• Ensure proper integration for the new youth within the YC program through follow up with the Social Worker of the village (Transfer of the case)
• Follow-up on issuing official papers for the youth
• Follow up with the court when needed

2. Oversee proper processing of the youth development project  through the YC pedagogical committee

• Facilitate the planning for individual youth development project at least once per year,                       progress review at least twice per year, and family review once per month
• Provide support to youth house leader and assistant to participate actively in the child development project
• Guide and support the youth and engage them progressively in their youth development project
• Provide educational and awearness sessions to the youth based on the needs

3. Ensure proper follow up with the biological families

• Undertake (when appropriate) at least three visit/year (especially for those families expecting to host their youth during vacations) to the biological families
• Develop a rehabilitation project for biological families with possibilities for reintegration
• Update the information concerning any changes in the status of the biological families.

4. Ensure proper youth transfer process from the AC/YC to the community

• Ensure proper integration for the new youth within the community through follow up with the case on his social integration
• Reassesses periodically the youth needs and progress in meeting the objectives defined in youth Development Plan and make decisions on the case closure, in cooperation with the youth and the multidisciplinary team.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation

• Enters data regularly in PDB, ensures quality of data and uses regularly the reports and data stored in the database to track individual progress of the youth. Provides information for new requirements to the youth house leader.
• Collects regularly information about different indicators as defined in the M&E plan of the programme unit and reports to the youth house leader.

6. Child Safeguarding (CS)

• Responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect youth from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
• Carries out CS risk assessment within the YC program in collaboration with the CS commette and ensures that relevant actions are put in place to mitigate the existing and possible CS risks.
• Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager.
• Analyses in cooperation with national CS focal person lessons learnt from CS incidents and plans actions related to care quality improvement
