POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Education Assistant is responsible for outreach, identifying, counseling, and assisting families to ensure that children and youth have access to education. S/he will support the implementation of all educational activities in the South area, perform a variety of tasks and duties intending to find the best solution for beneficiaries, and ensure that the project and activities are successful. The candidate will closely work with refugee communities to ensure community mobilization and engagement throughout the implementation of the activities.
DUTIES:
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the educational activities including outreach, community mobilization, awareness session, training, homework support groups, foreign language groups, etc…
- Ensure proper follow-up and referral on possible concerns related to student enrolment in schools or in other non-formal education programs
- Identify out of school children and ensure proper data collection
- Handle work-related data entry and input
- Conduct school and home visits when required
- Conduct field visits to all activity sites and monitor the implementation process
- Refer specific cases to education services and ensure inter-sectoral referrals whenever required
- Any other tasks required in the framework of the education program and activities

- 1 to 2 years of working experience preferably in social work, community mobilization, or education
- Experience working with migrants/Refugees and other groups
- Experience in working with vulnerable groups is a plus
