Program Director

  • Directing and supervising the day-to-day management of the Association programs through their life cycle from end-to-end in strict compliance with donor requirements to ensure the desired outcomes and objectives are delivered
  • Preparing the global program brief, project initiation documents, and budgets, and set out the options and justification for the proposed expenditure ensuring the proposal is sound and represents value for money
  • Assisting the Executive Director to identify, analyze, and respond to new funding opportunities, and drafting project proposals
  • Securing resources and expertise as required, for example, appointing professional advisers to support the project sponsor role
  • Coordinating value management strategy and fostering teamwork
  • Ensuring continuous and effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning processes throughout the program life cycle
  • Determining and managing risks to the programs
  • Managing the program work plan and budget, the managers’ performance of delegated responsibilities, anticipating changes, introducing adjustments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Establishing formal reporting arrangements on programs or projects progress; and to ensure regular dialogue to promote problem-solving, team working and risk-sharing
  • Defining criteria and tools for control and management of the program or project
  • Leading, guiding, motivating, and influencing the work of the Associations’ staff in a purposeful direction and encouraging good performance and values

Qualifications and competencies:
 

  • Master's degree in management and finance, public administration, or other relevant fields
  • Significant demonstrative experience, of at least 4 years, in Program Management, Program Development, monitoring and evaluation, and donor-funded programs/ projects.
  • Skills in managing projects funded by international donors.
  • Experience in proposal writing and donor reporting
  • Experience in preparing budgets and monitoring expenditure
  • Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both English and Arabic language
  • Can work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail with strong follow up
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, in both languages
