The Daily meal Supervisor will work under the anticipated GIZ-funded Cash for Work project detailed below:
The project comprises three types of cash for work activities targeting 500 workers: food production activities, including the production and distribution of daily meals and preserves baskets to 400 vulnerable families in targeted neighborhoods; agricultural activities including urban farming, small-scale farming and composting; and crafts activities including quilting, and possibly wood work, pottery, shoemaking, or copper production. In addition, of a Full-Stack Web Development VT targeting 25 women from vulnerable neighborhoods. All sub-activities will run for 3 cycles, and each cycle will start with a period of training, part of which will be technical, and will differ from one sub-activity to another, and part of which will be cross-cutting across all sub-activities, over two days. The latter part will include onboarding training on PSEA, code of conduct, non-violent communication, work ethics and well-being. Once training is complete, the workers will move on to the production phase.
This key role is responsible for the first line of activity that tackles food production, ensuring that food products meet the established standards of quality and food safety, and that the products are in line with the specifications.
Job Description:
- Inspect and ensure high quality of products, which matches pre-determined specifications
- Monitor the process of cleaning and packaging
- Analyze and address possible reasons for product defects and quality lapses
- Inspect the facility to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained in order to meet food safety requirements
- Determine methods to resolve any quality or food safety compliance issues that arise
- Liaise with team members and make all arrangements for smooth production and distribution
- Report regularly to the Activity Coordinator and Project Manager.
- Prepare reports, compile and maintain records on product quality status, and all inspections that have been conducted.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience (experience within an NGOs is a plus);
- Knowledge of humanitarian and NGO principles;
- Degree in Food Quality/Food Safety or equivalent is a plus;
- MS proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, fluency in English is a plus.
