Head of Department, Human Resources

General Summary and Scope:

Under the General Direction and in line with the strategic business plan of the Organization, manages the corporate HR operational activities.

Plan and implement the Organization of HR activities (recruitment plan, training and development, performance appraisals etc) in order to secure the HR supply and management required by the organization and to allow its continuous growth and prosperity.

Specific Job Skills:

  • Able to communicate and motivate via written media.
  • Understands the principles of HR especially all the non-administrative issues pertaining to his Job.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a very good motivator.
  • Empathetic listener and problem solver.  

Computer skills:

  • Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and power point, Internet and email.
  • Knowledge and past experience of working on HR module within a complete ERP

Literacy and Numeracy:

  • Able to understand cost structure of a Manpower Plans and how to set a financial feasibility study of the Manpower Plan and full departmental budgets
  • Must be a very competent writer of all kind of administrative reports as well as all kinds of legal reports and contracts concerning employee relations.

Business Skills:

  • Must be an excellent implementer of policies and procedures, meticulous and timely executor of tasks.
  • Able to demonstrate success and experience in managing, motivating and leading people.
  • Ideal business background would be in: Corporate HR, Management, Consultancy.

Management Ability:

  • Internal staff management is initially part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the business.
  •  People-management skills, experience and natural ability will be useful.

Past Experience and Education

  • Min 10 years of experience in HR out of which at least 5 years in a managerial HR position within a large Organization, preferably in NGOs.
  • University Graduate, preferably MBA from a reputed university with emphasis on HR or Management, in addition to related HR certificate such as SPHR, and training courses.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, additional language is a plus.
