I. INTRODUCTION
The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014 that aims to expand, manage, and protect Lebanon’s forests and landscapes through a community-based approach. We work on building resilient communities to environmental threats, increasing environmental awareness and education, advocating for forest conservation, and advancing research in the forestry field.
II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
LRI is currently recruiting an IT Coordinator for 1 year renewable starting mid March to help the organization maintain its information technology systems and networks. Duties will also include technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and systems. The candidate should have some experience in IT project management and solid technical background٫ together with good organizational, and analytical abilities.The IT Coordinator will also work with LRI's external IT support to solve system issues and reports directly to LRI's Director.
The IT Coordinator is expected to perform the following duties:
- Handling all ICT inquiries of all LRI offices.
- Supporting team members with IT requests and providing guidance to solve related issues through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone.
- Onboarding and training new team members to the use of the IT system.
- Delivering appropriate personnel training programs to ensure high quality professional staff performance with the IT system.
- Coordinating with the IT Outsourced support company to solve system issues.
- Conducting periodic IT assets’ operational check.
- Keeping IT assets’ inventory up to date including equipment and spare parts.
- Carrying regular visits to LRI’s area offices.
- Ensuring the smooth functioning of all IT infrastructure such as servers (local and VMs) and network connections, hardware, software.
- Ensuring the implementation of the security of the physical and virtual components of IT infrastructure such as security of the server room and, virus protections, firewalls, and data back-up implementation.
- Managing Microsoft O365 accounts.
- Coordinating with the organization’s website developer for any troubleshooting and issues.
- Coordinating the implementation of IT operations, projects, and programs while ensuring alignment of IT services with the organization’s needs (such as cloud migration, Microsoft O365 applications implementation, processes digitization).
- Coordinating IT purchases (hardware, software and services) with the procurement department and the users to ensure effective deployment of solutions aligned with users’ needs.
- Creating and maintaining IT SOPs.
- Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-range IT planning, including improvement opportunities and IT budgeting.
III. REQUIREMENTS
The IT Coordinator should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of cloud platform solutions, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft SharePoint.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Advanced speaking and writing skills especially in English, including technical/manual writing.
- Knowledge in Microsoft O365 (admin portal, applications (OneDrive, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- Sound technical knowledge about IT, security of systems and latest developments in the field.
- Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with users to establish what the problem is and explain the solution.
