The Global Health Institute (GHI) at the American University of Beirut is looking for a Project Coordinator to join its team.
The Project Coordinator will have a set of responsibilities and is expected to work on a variety of tasks related to the deliverables of one or several NGOi projects, including:
- Project Coordination/Management
- Managing and monitoring projects and their progress and ensuring that deliverables are submitted based on set deadlines
- Following up closely with subject matters experts (SMEs) engaged in different activities of the project
- Creating data collection tools and following monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Engage with local and international NGOs and donors through stakeholders’ meetings
- Writing detailed progress reports
- Organizing and facilitating workshops and roundtable discussions, and following up with participants as needed
- Working closely with different team members including the initiative manager, the coordination officers, the communications team, the web development team, and the administrative team, among others.
- Conceptualizing and following up on performance improvement of initiative’s services and internal procedures.
- Reaching out to local and international NGOs and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Collaborate on writing scientific journal articles related to the initiative’s activities
- Conceptualizing and preparing content of promotional and educational material related to the initiative’s projects including presentations, brochures, social media campaigns, etc.
- Managing different tracking sheets
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Background in project management, business management, political science and public relations/administration, or other related/relevant field.
- At least 3 years of previous experience in managing projects and teams and working in the NGO sector.
- Advanced writing skills and excellent report writing, presentation, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic skills
- Proven excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work in teams and under pressure
- Public engagement experience
- Excellent editing, proofreading, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of marketing and communication principles, guidelines and best practices, including social media is of added value
- Familiarity with software applications (html, web‐editing, web design, WordPress) is of added value
