Protection Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Support the establishment of the girls’ committee (incl. recruitment, development of terms of reference, follow up, community mobilization, etc.)
• Conduct community outreach to identify active girls to form the girls’ committee,
• Support in organizing trainings to the Committee members on psychosocial support (PSS), Protection and gender key topics;
• Support the Girls’ committee in planning and organizing girls-led initiatives involving both refugees and host community;
• Support the girls’ committee in the distribution of female kits;
• Conduct sensitization and awareness raising sessions on key protection issues based on identified needs for girls and caregivers;
• Identify and refer persons with specific needs to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral principles;
• Collect, store, maintain and analyze protection data produced through outreach, community consultation and individual protection;
• Draft individual workplan and participate in regular supervision, information sharing and coordination meetings with the Protection officer.
• Prepare and submit activity plans and reports as requested;
• Provide verbal and written feedback to supervisor on progress, lesson learnt, achievements and gaps, issues and problems;

Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor in Social science, psychology or other related field,
• Excellent facilitation and sensitization skills and good understanding of key protection principles
• Excellent communication and psychosocial first aid skills
• Essential experience:
• 1 year of experience conducting outreach, information sessions and events, conducting safe identification and referral
• Previous experience working with committees
