JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Social Worker is responsible for supporting the center coordinator in the implementation of and following-up on the program according to the strategy, proposal and plans in the center
DUTIES
- Implement delegated portfolio of projects (activities) according to strategy, proposal and plan, as delegated by project coordinator and in collaboration with field coordinator
- Facilitate and follow-up on service center activities
- Perform specific administrative operational/control tasks for project/program activities
- Organize and allocate tasks and work processes for staff in the center
- Supervise and follow-up staff performance in the center
- Collaborate with General Security to accelerate administrative procedure of vulnerable cases
- Coordinate with the social team, the medical team and the psychologist to maintain order and balance
- Develop periodic activity/project reports and other reporting as required
- Issue documents and reports for clearance by the center coordinator
- Ensure proper data processing and filing of all project documents
- Assist in and facilitate donors visits to the center
- Handle the payments related to activities and send required invoices and receipts to the accounting department for cash management review when needed
- Coordinate with the procurement/logistics departments for the office supplies, purchase requests when needed
- Handle the payments related to center expenses (Electricity, water etc...) when needed
- Manage Petit cash (prepare, record and maintain all Petit Cash disbursement vouchers) when needed
- Provide listening and counseling services to refugees and migrant workers (men and women)
- Respond to emergency cases
- Run the 24-hour helpline for refugee and migrant workers’ victims of violence and urgent cases when needed
- Refer beneficiaries to relevant service providers
- Supervise the daily rounds at the retention center to assess the needs of the detainees
- Attend minors and vulnerable detainees’ investigations when needed.
- Conduct field visits depending on the follow-up to be provided to each beneficiary (hospitals, doctors…)
- Control the sessions conducted by the social worker
- Conduct working groups with women, men and children when needed
- Accompany beneficiaries during recreational activities
- Ensure proper follow up on all actions to be considered for individual cases till achieving desired results
- Report to the center Coordinator the critical cases for final approval on the actions to be taken
- Prepare progress monthly reports on cases of beneficiaries and on activities implemented
- Work occasionally on weekends or after the working hours for very urgent cases (investigations, medical issues…) in coordination with the center Coordinator
- Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
- Assess, plan and implement activities in coordination with the center coordinator when necessary
- Refer traumatized cases to the psychologist for counseling and assistance
- Responsible for CARITAS visibility

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
- Bachelor Degree in Social work
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- 4 to 5 years of experience preferably in Social Work
- Experience in an administrative coordination capacity
- Experience working with Refugees, Migrants and other groups
