Objective:
The Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant will work on the implementation of and follow-up on MEAL plans, strategies, processes, and tools with project teams while complying with CL and donor standards. The M&E Assistant will participate in a wide range of data collection activities and contribute to strengthened monitoring efforts of CL programs with the aim of optimizing MEAL capacities within CL’s strategy to ensure high-quality programming.
Operational Activities:
- Collaborate with project staff to ensure routine raw data collection as per the MEAL workplan
- Collect data on regular basis through in-person and remote modalities using post-distribution monitoring tools (PDMs), surveys, focus group discussions, spot checks, and other tools
- Ensure all MEAL-related data and files are properly organized and stored, and databases are up-to-date
- Assist in performance monitoring of projects by following up on targets and achievements
- Assess and report all risks and challenges being faced during the implementation of the programs
- Support in developing, improving, and updating tools for data collection, processing, and analysis, taking into consideration standard policies and mutual stakeholder standards
- Support in the establishing of MEAL plans for projects
- Collaborate effectively and efficiently with data collectors on selected MEAL activities
- Support the development of reporting systems employed to serve the project team
- Support project coordinators in collecting and reporting data to the donors
- Write well-structured reports on indicators performance, targets, and MEAL activities or others as required
- Identify bottlenecks in procedures, practices, or activities and collaborate with the MEAL team to recommend improvements
- Share relevant MEAL findings in an appropriate format and follow up on their implementation
- Support the MEAL unit in conducting the needed investigations to report sensitive cases
- Undertake field trips to conduct observational visits and other MEAL activities
Generic Duties:
- Follow Caritas Lebanon's operational policy and procedures
- Respect the internal policies and procedures for example dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability, and act against any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issues to the related manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Job Knowledge:
Qualifications:
- Communication, writing, analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with refugee/marginalized communities preferred
- Driving license required
Additional Training: Certifications in MEAL or data management preferred
Related Work Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field
