Communication Officer

MARCH is seeking to recruit a highly driven and creative consultant for the position of Communication Officer (C0). The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or other relevant discipline.

The CO will give a voice to vulnerable and at-risk youth from marginalized areas in Lebanon. Through which the CO will be responsible for preparing and implementing communication materials,  evolving the website content, assisting in the management of MARCH’s various social media channels, and maintaining media archives to prepare reports for management. Indeed, the CO will develop and assist the design and production of media to create engaging content. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Adhere to MARCH policies, standards, and procedures;
  • Reflect MARCH’s values and overall mission through produced content and communication campaigns;
  • Write content for the web pages, articles, blogs, social media posts, video scripts, etc. that is oriented to engage target audiences;
  • Provide translation of Arabic to English and vice versa when requested for publications, articles, grants, documents;
  • Proofread/edit written reports to ensure consistency and quality of language;
  • Establish a calendar of communications deliverables which is accessible to staff members;
  • Maintain a library of program photos, videos, success stories, case studies, publications, etc. that can be shared with key stakeholders;
  • Assist, on a weekly basis, in managing the website and social media channels, and ensure its regular update with quality content  to extend the reach of MARCH’s program and mission;
  • Search through websites and other sources of information for events/publications/activities relevant to the project;
  • Help prepare for external-facing events and meetings, including preparation of document packages, presentations, talking points, etc.;
  • Assist in finalizing written content for proposals, internal and donor reporting.

 

Requirement and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or other relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in communication, preferably with NGOs in the development field or peacebuilding and conflict resolution;
  • Experience in digital communications (e.g. websites, social media, videos);
  • Experience copy-editing reports and other communications materials for a variety of audiences;
  • Familiarity  in MS Office required with graphic design and photo/video experience is  a plus;
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus;
  • Arabic and English fluency required, with demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills in both languages;
  • Portfolio of past written content must be submitted alongside the CV.
