TITLE: PSS Supervisor 

ABAAD PURPOSE:

ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.

Job Purpose

The PSS Supervisor is responsible to ensure appropriate supervision, support, monitoring and on the job coaching for the Psychosocial Social Workers and Child Care Attendants working in both Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) & Safe Shelter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate the work of PSS workers in their respective regions and ensure that work is completed according to ABAAD’s PSS strategy and international guidelines and standards
• Ensure supervision, coaching and orientation of PSS staff working with beneficiaries taking part in PSS activities within ABAAD’s projects and monitor their PSS plans In close coordination with PSS advisor
• Participate in staff meetings and monthly evaluation meetings
• Take part of the monthly PSS technical meetings organized with PSS advisor, document and contribute to the development of the PSS activities Tool & curriculum of interventions that are developed throughout
• Ensure all PSS related M&E tools are utilized, information collected, analyzed and actions taken to ensure quality service provision;
• Collect, compile and analyze monthly reports from the PSS team and submit to central level;
• Participate and ensure participation of PSS workers in capacity building initiatives implemented at the sector level;
• Work closely with the PSS advisor, Senior Technical Coordinator, Center Coordinator and Psychotherapists on all issues related to programs and PSS activities;
• Other duties as assigned by the manager and ABAAD Director.
• Attend the MHPSS trainings organized by ABAAD throughout the year and document main messages and protocols of interventions to be shared with PSS workers in different projects

Coordination

• Organize individual weekly and monthly meetings with ABAAD’s PSS workers
• Ensure participation in Field level coordination and monthly meetings taking place
• Represent ABAAD monthly in MHPSS national task force
• Gather feedback at the national and community level and share information with MHPSS advisor and PSS workers

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• University Degree (BA) in social work, psychology or any related field;
• Minimum Five-year’ experience in relevant position;
• Extensive experience in GBV, CP and Psychosocial and working with non-government organization is a must
• Experience in GBV programming, and demonstrated gender sensitivity;
• Good organizational and prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure;
• Leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills;
• Strong inter-personal and team working skills including the ability to manage liaise and communicate with team members;
• Demonstrated capacity to take initiative and pay attention to details;
• Flexibility, dynamic; initiative-taking;
• Ability to react to emergency situation and trouble-shoot crisis situation as needed;
• Ability to plan workloads and demonstrate accountability for outputs;
• Experience of working in/with non-government organizations;
• Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English are essential- French is a plus;
