Business Planning & Recovery Trainer

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Job Purpose:

The business planning and recovery coach will help the women in building their skills, in order for them to know how to run dairy and cheese factories. The training will provide the necessary business and marketing skills to help them refine their skills, and write and implement a business plan. This set of newly acquired skills will also help them improve the quality of their work, constructing business plans for the six groups. Each group will consist of 10 women who will produce dairy products from raw materials, package, label and market their products.

The consultants will be assisting the producers in bookkeeping and financials, since financial help is needed for the first few months of operations, especially in the procurement of milk, rent, and energy which constitute around 70% and 15% (rent + energy) of the total expenses respectively.

Thus, providing the producers with sufficient working capital to start with, by selling the products to ensure a healthy beginning financially with a safety net and a more sustainable outcome in the future.

The trainer is expected to provide a day session three to four times per week for the duration of 4 months.

Moreover, the trainer will be providing a few sessions of business development skills for women producer groups on bookkeeping, pricing, market linkages (participatory approach), sales, communication, marketing and online marketing using social platforms.

General Responsibilities :

• Introduce participants to business skills such as business planning, marketing, and financial planning, relationship building and relationship management with customers, sales, accounting for small businesses, risk and feasibility assessment, digital business, and strategic planning
• Develop two training manuals: the first one is dedicated to participants who can read and write and the second simplified graphic manual to be provided to participants who cannot read
• Follow up on the business plans of participants and coach them to develop the work and the product.
• Monitor women's progress and their development
• Deliver the training in Arabic
• The trainer should identify women that have better financial skills, sales, and negotiation skills and recommend them accordingly to start their producer group business.

Qualifications:

• University Degree in Business or a related field
• Previous experience in providing business training, and small dairy and cheese factories or other similar fields.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills
