Pharmacist - North and Akkar

The pharmacist job is mainly to prepare the vaccines and maintain vaccine cold chain (VCC). Support the Ministry of Public Health’s vision and effort to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Commit to working hours
  • Responsible for monitoring the daily consumption of vaccines and coordinating with the Senior Health officer of Health management team to ensure sufficient daily supply of vaccines
  • Monitor the daily vaccines and vaccine supplies stock and consumption, and complete detailed inventory
  • Provide needed vaccine supplies’ numbers to the Senior Health officer of Health management team ahead of time to ensure timely order and delivery from MoPH central warehosue
  • Ensure appropriate reception and storage of the vaccines as per the technical guidelines from manufacturer and MoPH
  • Monitor and ensure the continuity of the cold chain, including proper record of the temperature
  • Mix and/or dilute the vaccine with proper diluent or adjuvant as per the technical guidelines of the product, using proper standards of aseptic/antiseptic measures
  • Pre-fill syringes with unique doses of appropriately diluted and mixed vaccines
  • Ensure respect of proper storage and cold chain requirements at all stages of the vaccine doses preparation, including pre-loading of syringes, storage of pre-filled syringes and distribution to vaccination stations
  • Coordinate in line with the Senior Health officer to provide sufficient provision of pre-filled syringes to the vaccination stations, ensuring an efficient workflow in the vaccination stations but avoiding any waste
  • At the end of the vaccination day, complete supplies inventory to ensure sufficient vaccines and consumable provision for the scheduled appointments on the following day.
  • Follow-up on any recall alert for vaccines batches
  • Dispose of bio-hazardous waste in the appropriate and prescribed manner
  • Respect standard precautions protocols
  • Prepare any documentation for the vaccination and monitoring as needed
  • Ensure proper record of all required information in the information system, including scanning documentation
  • Responsible to ensure provision of necessary desk supply for his/her workstation on a daily basis
  • Abide by all policies and work procedures
  • Treat all patients with respect and professionalism
  • Commit to maintain professional ethics, quality of care, patient confidentiality
  • Inform the site supervisor of any issues, including but not limited to cold chain interruption, risk of supplies shortage, order and delivery vaccine issue
  • Commit to standards of care and professional practice
  • Perform any other tasks based on needs to ensure proper roll out of the vaccination, upon manager and site supervisor request

Person Specification:

  • MS degree in Pharmacy and he / she must have:

- Permission to practice Pharmacy from the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon.

- Registration with the Order of Pharmacists.

  • Good experience in Pharmacy for at least 1 year
  • Ability to have good verbal and written communication with all workers
  • Basic Computer skills (especially in using the electronic medical file), electronic printer, fax, etc.
  • Languages: Arabic (Fluent), English (Good).
