Open Vacancy: Translator

The Knowledge Workshop (KW) is looking to hire translators to work on its upcoming publication. 

About KW: The Knowledge Workshop is a feminist organization founded in 2015, working on storytelling and oral history, making accessible feminist books and resources, and developing feminist publications. 

This year, KW is developing a book that revolves around feminist art and activism, storytelling and oral histories. The translator is expected to translate from English to Arabic. 

Expected timeframe for this position: July-August 2022.  

Qualifications:

Candidates must have: 

• No less than four years of experience in the field of translation 
• Familiarity with and experience in translating writings on feminist research as well as personal stories
• A degree in translation is a plus
• Priority will be given to candidates based in Lebanon, although a Lebanese nationality is not required.

• A cover letter (no more than 2 pages) explaining your relevant experiences, and why you are interested in this position 
• A quotation for translating a text of 5000-7000 words
• A sample of an essay that you have translated in the last two years
