GAM Unit Manager-Mansourieh

Major Responsibilities:

 

Resource diversification Strategy Development (20%)

 

Lead the development/maintenance and roll out of a Grant Acquisition and Management (GAM) strategy or plan in line with WVL National Office (NO) Strategy

Lead the development in consultation with the SLT of a donor engagement plan in alignment with the GAM business plan.

Ensure pro-active interaction and coordination with all other WVL departments and field operation teams to maximize synergy effects, support quality design of proposals, as well as facilitate solid and comprehensive grants management and compliance procedures.

Develop in collaboration with the National Office team a GAM Business Plan, grant forecasting plans and annual growth plan for Relief and development Portfolios in line with WVL strategy on annual basis, and ensure its implementation

Lead with the Senior Leadership members (National Director, PDQ Director, Field Operations director) and technical and advocacy teams pre-positioning efforts and strategy for current and potential donors

 

Resource Acquisition/ Internal and External liaison (20%)

 

Preposition and engage with internal and external donors/stakeholders based on the GAM business plan

Engage with Support Offices (SOs)/DMT on GAM strategy objectives

Provide support to the WVL team’s and departments when needed in engaging with and developing individual donor relations

Liaise/partner with Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEER) Resource Development Unit (RDU) for grant lessons learned, capacity building and regional alignments

Lead/Support GAM team in the development and submission of new grants

Facilitate Go-No-Go decisions for new grants and opportunities

Lead on the development and/or review of Grant Acquisition business processes. Liaise with different department to ensure adequate implementation.

 

Grant Management (15%)

 

Supervise Grant Compliance and ensure grants management tools are in place, followed and functional according to standards

Grants reporting (and other requirements) is up to date and timely in line with donor expectations and deadlines

Ensuring that grant management processes are adhered to in coordination with other departments

 

Partnerships Management (10%)

 

Ensuring that the partnering guidelines are in place and rolled out to all departments

Provide support to operations team to ensure compliance to the partnering process for all partnerships

Launch and manage the partnering Expression of Interest on a semi-annual basis

Liaise with different departments (Field Ops team and tech team) to complete the preparatory work prior to finalizing the partnership agreements

Team Management (20%)

 

Effectively manage the performance of direct reports ensuring performance agreements, regular performance reviews, and annual appraisal are done.

Ensure optimization of subordinates’ potentials through coaching, on-the-job training, and capacity building

Perform other duties as required (5%)

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.

 

 

Knowledge/Qualifications for the role:

Post graduate university degree in social sciences, international development or equivalent

Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT and DB Software

5 years of experience in Grants Acquisition and Management (senior GAM role and/or similar position)

Experience in team management

Excellent understanding of the donor environment in the current context

Strong network and relationship with existing donors in the context

Knowledge of the program management cycle – design, monitoring and evaluation

Knowledge of the nexus approach and social behavior change programming

Excellent communication, interpersonal, representation and negotiation skills;

Excellent analytical and writing (English) skills

Sound planning, time management and administrative skills

Ability to work under pressure, in a team, and for long hours if required

High sense of responsibility and attention to detail

Proven track record of coaching and capacity building
