  1. Required qualifications, competences and experience

Formal Education

  • Baccalaureate & A valid driving licence

Professional Experience

  • At least 2 years of pertinent experience; Knowledge of the surrounding streets and districts, Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. in rush hour traffic), especially in crisis situations
  • Transport technical support to the project
  • Ensure that security and administrative requirements are met.
  • Support an overall smooth and correct functioning of the project's logbook and consumption book in accordance with GIZ standard procedures.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Arabic native speaker, English fluency in spoken and written
  • good working knowledge of ITC technologies and related software (e.g. Outlook, internet applications) etc. and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Excel, Power Point).

  1. Major Responsibilities
  • Provide transport technical support to the project and ensure that safety and GIZ administrative requirements are met. Support the smooth and correct functioning of the project's logbook and consumption book in accordance with GIZ standard procedures. In addition, all security risks are to be coordinated together with RMO Lebanon.

 

  1. Tasks
  • Planning travel routes in advance to determine the most expedient journey.
  • Picking up project staff from the location and at the time requested
  • Collecting payments and issuing receipts
  • Considering traffic and weather reports to keep up to date with road conditions
  • Adjust route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed
  • Ensure that the project vehicle is clean and roadworthy for all project staff
  • Scheduling regular vehicle service appointments and reporting problems
  • Keeping a logbook and consumption book

Project Description: The GIZ project "Peaceful co-existence in refugee hosting communities in Lebanon" focuses on the overall objective of improving peaceful coexistence between Syrian refugees and residents of selected partner municipalities. The target group in the project are Syrian refugees and the population of partner municipalities in Lebanon as well as representatives of local administrations as intermediaries, civil society organisations, local decision-makers and representatives of Syrian refugees and residents of partner municipalities in the north Lebanon. The project supports the ten partner municipalities in participatory needs assessment processes and the implementation of local initiatives through training and organisational and process consulting.
