Quality Controller

Location              Beirut warehouse + Field trips to Tripoli and Zahle

PURPOSE

The Quality Controller is responsible for inspecting the quality of incoming food / non-food goods. With focus on Quality, s/he implements and contributes to the smooth flow of the ICRC’s operational pipeline.

MINIMUM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Quality Management or a related field
• 2 to 3 years of experience in Retail sector / Quality inspection / Warehousing / Food processing industry
• Excellent command of Arabic and English
• Very good computer skills
• Very good communication skills
• Basics of Quality Management
• Basic overview of kitting/picking & packing operations

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures only latest versions of quality instructions, records and reports are used for quality control and maintains the quality-control records database.
• Supervises and coaches a small team of temporary quality control staff composed mainly of daily workers at supplier warehouses handling food, non-food items.
• Ensures adequate control of nonconforming products.
• Monitors cargo loading/unloading, sampling, packing/kitting, implementing solutions.
• Uses standard quality-control documents to ensure that quality checks are undertaken and that accurate findings are relayed to the relevant Quality colleagues.
• Ensures that quality-control equipment is calibrated before testing and that it is calibrated on schedule.
• Is responsible for keeping the quality-control area, sample room and equipment clean and safe (identification and inventory list).
• Plans, coordinates and records the results of measurements, examinations, tests and gauging of items to ensure that the minimum quality requirements are met; may personally perform measurements, etc.
• Reviews current work practices to identify areas in which the quality process could be improved and developed
